This isn’t SoulCycle. No one is yelling at you in Lululemon. Pinky promise. This is spinning fiber - a relaxing and rewarding skill that is the beginning of any fiber craft. Learn how to create your own yarn for your next project. After learning about the spinning wheel, fiber, and the theory behind spinning – we will jump right in. Students are guided through the spinning, plying, and finishing of their first 4 oz. skein of yarn. (Minimum of 2 lessons needed to complete a project)

Spinning wheel and all equipment provided for class. Students will receive 4 oz of fiber for their first project and class materials including spinning wheel guide and terminology, fiber guide, and shopping resources.

I think it’s safe to say that knitting is “cool” again. There are so many beautiful and fun patterns out there, waiting to be knit by you. Designed for first-time knitters with little to no experience. We start at the very beginning and learn basic techniques: casting on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off. Once students create their swatch, we cast-on a beginner project and learn about yarn weights, needle sizes, and how to read patterns and yarn labels when selecting yarn.

Students will receive yarn, needles, and class materials including a stitch guide, shopping resources, and a beginner pattern to take home.

This craft is for badass chicks. Embroidery isn’t just for well-behaved ladies anymore with it being a medium of choice for activists and political artists. With only a few basic stitches, you can make this artform whatever you choose. We start with a sampler and learn the basic stitches needed to create just about anything. Once completed, we learn how to sketch your own designs, how to choose material, and finish your artwork.

Students will receive a hoop, embroidery floss, needles, and class materials including a stitch guide and sample designs for transfers.
